Grounded in operations

Built with an understanding
of both sides of the counter.

AES is led by a cannabis retail operator. We understand that customer questions, product selection, menu usability, store workflows, and commercial priorities all affect the same sale.

Our market knowledge spans Canada, Michigan, Arizona, Colorado, and California. We use that perspective to ask better questions and scope work around each retailer’s actual locations and systems.

The starting point is your current business: what customers need, where the journey loses momentum, and which changes are worth making first.

Where we focus

Improve the connections
between discovery and purchase.

01

Make every store discoverable

Review location pages, Google Business Profiles, business information, relevant directory listings, and search content. Give shoppers a clear route to the store that can serve them.

02

Make the menu work for the customer

Examine location selection, product categories, navigation, product details, availability, and basket building. Identify the points that make a purchase harder than it needs to be.

03

Connect the online order to the store

Assess how ecommerce fits your POS, inventory, pickup or delivery process, and team workflow. Define integration requirements and vendor dependencies before implementation.

04

Build beyond the first transaction

Review customer communications, appropriate follow-up, repeat-purchase patterns, and retention tools. Scope messaging to the retailer’s permissions, policies, and market requirements.

The systems behind the journey

Work from your existing stack.

These are platforms we have experience with. Discovery establishes the work your particular setup needs.

  • Cova
  • Greenline

Acquisition & measurement

Use the right channels.
Understand what they do.

Local search, useful content, relevant listings, store pages, and appropriate customer communications form part of the acquisition plan. Paid, social, print, radio, or other media are considered where the product, audience, channel policy, and jurisdiction permit them.

Google Business Profile and Search Console help assess discovery. GA4 and Microsoft Clarity can help identify behaviour and friction when appropriately configured. Available ecommerce and POS data help connect that activity to purchases and repeat business.

We distinguish intent signals, such as a directions request, from confirmed orders or store sales. We also identify where attribution is incomplete.

How we measure progress

Market-specific planning

A scope that fits
your operating environment.

Canadian provinces and US states do not share one set of retail and promotional requirements. We review the intended customer journey and marketing approach against the retailer’s market, platform restrictions, and compliance requirements.

Legal interpretations and regulatory approvals remain with the retailer and its qualified advisers. These requirements are part of planning the work.
